The Coaches

ESS hand picks it’s English FA Qualified senior coaches not only on their qualifications but their footballing and life experiences so that our coaches can also act as teachers and mentors to our players. They come from all walks of life including ex British High Commission Staff , ex- and current teachers , BBC News TV financial analysts and Comunity and social workers. Our assistant coaches are are UK HNC level 1 qualified AFC qualified or undergoing internships for qualifications .

At ESS we firmly believe in inclusive play, that there is a session for everyone. All our sessions are carefully planned in accordance with English FA guidelines where possible and our curriculum has been developed by our Chief Technical advisor , Keith Boanas. Please see Our Locations to find an ESS program near you.

Some parents want their child to be involved in Soccer and have the chance to have fun with players of their own age whilst learning the basics, which is we think is great! However, some parents want to see their child progressing, learning and improving at the same time and we also think this is great! This is why we have recently re-developed our Academy setup in order to give our players who want to learn how to play football, instead of just learning to play football, a chance to make the next step towards a competitive level.

The Football Association has voted in favour of making small-sided formats for certain age-groups mandatory. Proposals including smaller sided games on smaller pitches and smaller goals were voted in by an 87% majority.
We are pleased to announce that ESS since its conception have been exponents of small sided games , healthy coach to player ratio of 1 to 8 where possible and strong advocates of football intelligence with guided discovery . We welcome the English FA initiative an applaud the FAS initiative of arranging friendly matches and the promotion of the local Singapore League from September 1st 2012.

“The smaller pitch and number of players allows greater number of touches of the ball and involvement in the game, helping develop greater technical skills at a lower age.”
